COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills
Are you interested in becoming a qualified counsellor? Or maybe you wish to embed counselling skills into your current role? Alternatively you might just want to understand yourself and your relationships a little better? Join one of our COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills Course delivered in a variety of venues and online options.
This course will give you new listening and communication techniques and insights into yourself and others. You are encouraged to explore your own beliefs, ethics, and values throughout the 4 modules and consider the impact these have on you and others. As you learn how counselling skills can be effectively used, you will have the opportunity to develop your own skills in triad practice throughout every module.
The COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills is widely recognised by employers, counselling agencies and training providers/universities and is one of the entry-level courses which allow students to apply for our own SQA Customised Award – Diploma in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy SCQF Level 10 – 246 credits.
We have also adapted and delivered our courses directly to organisations. Tailored to the needs of staff working in diverse settings, such as the field of addiction, health, and education. This course can provide a solid grounding in communication skills and the practice of establishing effective relationships.
The COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills is a 120 hour course which is divided into four 30 hour modules. This is delivered in different ways including a day per week or evenings/weekends.
This course is run both as fully in person course or fully online course with start dates throughout the year usually (January, May and September).
The in person courses are available through our Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Kilmarnock training venues and we also deliver these courses through our community partnerships.
Many applicants wish to take their first step to becoming a counsellor.
Applicants come from a wide range of backgrounds, some with extensive experience in helping/support roles and others who no experience.
There is no formal entry requirements for this course.
Cost: £1536 per course £384 per module.
