PDA in Counselling Supervision
Are you an experienced counsellor who wants to develop your skill to become a counselling supervisor? Do you want to gain a nationally recognised qualification to support and inform your work?
Our Supervision Course is suitable for counselling and psychotherapy practitioners who are interesting in developing as counselling supervisors.
The course includes themes of ethics, supervision theory and practice with the opportunity to practice with peers. It will also include opportunities for personal and professional development.
We have now received SQA Approval for our PDA in Counselling Supervision Course and we will run this in Glasgow in Jan 2026 rolling out to other areas later in the year. We have delivered the COSCA Supervision Course but we feel that this shift allows us to adopt a more pluralistic approach to counselling supervision.
The PDA in Counselling Supervision at SCQF level 11 covers the following specialist skills:
- the facilitative role and responsibilities of an effective clinical supervisor
- the ethics and sensitivities necessary in supervision
- the ability to assess competent practise against standards and deal with serious concerns
For further details and dates please get in touch.
The course consists of three modules – the third relating to supervised practice and submission of a practice case study.
This course will be delivered in person with fully in person, hybrid or fully online options. The 2026 programme will offer courses in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Kilmarnock Training Venues.
Applicants must:
have significant experience in counselling/psychotherapy (with a min of 450 client hours)
